A free download of Cool Edit Pro made possible this first "real" solo recording, giving me an opportunity to document many of the dense-yet-pleasant proggy classical guitar songs I had been writing for years throughout high school and undergrad at that point, performed with a band of MIDIbots on the $50 MIDIsoft Studio program I used for a decade. Not counting the cost of the guitar, CDRs, and Kinko's copies, this album cost $0.00 to make (as would every one up to "The Lemon").
Cheesy MIDI-ness aside, "Sinh Taala" and "Zero Gravity" were my crowning achievements of that period. Several have made their way into friends' weddings for years since, particularly "Ale for Alchemist."
The first 200 physical CDRs of this are gone and I'm several hundred more into an inferior 2nd run, making this my most widely distributed solo album. It's gone "Tin Foil" and remains in heavy rotation in my mom's stereo.
